What special precautions should I follow?
Before taking Fenoterol:
Inform your doctor about your complete medical history, including: any allergies, heart diseases, blood vessel disorders, high blood pressure, thyroid problems (hyperthyroid), glaucoma, or diabetes.
Tell your doctor of all non-prescription and prescription medication you may use, especially: other adrenaline-like drugs (e.g., pseudoephedrine), anticholinergics (e.g. benztropine), xanthine products (e.g. theophylline, caffeine), corticosteroids (e.g. prednisone), "water pills" (diuretics e.g. furosemide), beta-blockers (e.g. propranolol), MAO inhibitors (e.g. furazolidone, selegiline, phenelzine, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine), or certain antidepressants (e.g. amitriptyline). Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Limit alcohol intake as it may aggravate drug side effects.
This medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Moreover, it is not known whether this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Caution is advised when this drug is used in the elderly as this group may be more sensitive to drug side effects.
